So maybe you remember the blog I posted a few weeks back about it being an early winter… Well since then mother nature has made it her mission to make a fool out of me! It hasn’t snowed once since then, in fact it has been fairly mild and for the most part, nice outside.

With that aside I feel that my view on music has changed a lot over the past two months. I feel like I have become more musically diverse. I find myself listening to all sorts of music ranging from The Beatles to Lady Gaga. I feel like I am rediscovering music as if it were the first time. I feel happy again, re-energized and full of creativity.

I remember when I first started getting into music. I was in grade school and I got a small radio/stereo system for Christmas. I loved listening to the music we now know as early to late 90’s music. I fell in love with music from The Goo Goo Dolls, Alanis Morrissette, Fastball, Third Eye Blind, Blink 182, Sarah McLachlan, New Radicals, The Cranberries, The Smashing Pumpkins, Smashmouth, Cher, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Barenaked Ladies, Sheryl Crow, Sugar Ray, Matchbox 20, and so on. I have been listing to all my old favorites again and it makes me feel like a kid again. I think I have such fond memories of music as a child because it was the music that helped me escape from some of the bad things happening in my life when I was a child, I could escape through the music. I feel that I still use music to escape from the reality of the world.

Over the last 8 to 9 years it has been hard for me to listen to the music playing on the radio as a lot of it has been made into something of a joke. Music today has become very manufactured and all about money or else its very negative. There are only a few legitimate artists left in American mainstream music. This is a reason why I like Lady Gaga so much these days. There are not many artists left that are actually tenanted and can really sing.

I  cannot wait for November 23rd! The Fame Monster is out!

Oh and before I forget! I got a new instrument! It’s called a Stylophone. It works with a stylus as you will see in this video of me playing “The Lovers are Losing” by Keane. (I am sorry that the audio is horrible. Probably sounds better with the sound turned down a little bit.)
